CHARTER

Assisting to improve
public safety agency emergency communications systems (includes DHS/FEMA, fire,
EMS, Albany County sheriff, NYSP, etc.)

Increasing cellular
telephone access to the greatest geographical coverage possible
·
Providing high-speed
internet access (“broadband”) to the maximum extent possible to the greatest
population at the lowest cost

- Review draft letters for public safety input (Cathy to prepare
draft)
- Need to list agencies to receive these letters
- See action items list for agencies
- Need to decide date to mail
- June 6th
- Proposed meeting for July 10, 7:00 PM in
Medusa
- Letter to politicians, State DHS, etc.
- Review follow-on questionnaire to residents (Fred to prepare for
RTC members to review)
- Need to add cellular or internet or public
safety references from results of Comp Plan residents survey and final
adopted plan (Fred, but anyone else feel free to review in case I miss
something!)
- Needs to be completed by June deadline for insert
into July 1 town newsletter deadline date June 18)
- Reply date 8/1
- Discuss inviting cellular providers to meet with RTC
- Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint/Nextel are
aggressively building out "tier-3"
- ATT/Cingular appears not aggressive (only 40
sites in NY this year), but we'll invite them, too
- Also invite American Tower to a meeting with us
- If time allows we can review open items listing for additional
members input
- Excel spreadsheet format attached to this
email. Makes if easier for priority sorting, etc.
